The Kansas City Council approved economic development incentives and zoning for the Oxford on the Blue biotech office park plan on Thursday, September 11. Testifying before the Kansas City Planning Zoning and Economic Development Committee, Mike T. White said that the project north of 87th Street between Interstate 435 and U.S. 71 would bring about a renaissance in southeast Kansas City. James C. Bowers handled the planning and zoning portion of the project, and White, the economic development incentives.
The plan, which is the brainchild of James E. Stowers III, envisions a 344-acre, mixed-use development which will include biotech offices and residential uses.
