Jim Bowers and Greg Musil, Rouse Frets White Goss Attorneys, Assist in Johnson County Permit Renewal for Sunflower Quarry

Leawood, Kan. – April 18, 2025: Jim Bowers and Greg Musil, attorneys with Rouse Frets White Goss Gentile Rhodes, P.C., recently helped Martin Marietta Materials secure a county permit renewal that allows the company to continue operating the Sunflower Quarry south of De Soto, Kansas.

With Greg’s assistance, the Johnson County Commission unanimously approved a 10-year renewal of a Conditional Use Permit for the quarry, which helps ensure that rock aggregate necessary for economic development through road and building construction is available locally. Martin Marietta was also complimented by the county for its commitment and compliance with all regulations and conditions.
