Leawood, Kan. – October 15, 2019 – The higher education group of Rouse Frets White Goss Gentile Rhodes recently secured a dismissal of a large federal assessment against the law firm’s client, Alvareita’s College of Cosmetology.
Alvareita’s, a former two-campus, family-owned beauty school located in Illinois, was subjected to an assessment arising from a federal government review of a third-party financial aid servicer used by the school. The assessment required Alvareita’s corporate owner to repay all federal aid disbursed over a two-year period regarding the school. Rouse Frets, led by Ron Holt and assisted by Hank Driskell and Nicole Polzin, fought the assessment. The government withdrew the assessment entirely, closing the matter, and clearing Alvareita’s name.

Choice of an attorney is an important decision and should not be based solely upon a website or advertisements. In reviewing achievements by the law firm or its attorneys, remember that past results afford no guarantee of future results; every matter is different and must be judged on its own merits. And, although our lawyers may practice in subject areas, neither the Supreme Court of Kansas nor The Kansas Bar reviews or approves certifying organizations or specialty designations for Kansas licensed attorneys.
