Leawood, Kan. – September 18, 2025: Kim Spies and Greg Musil, shareholders with Rouse Frets White Goss Gentile Rhodes, P.C., recently facilitated a $120 million hospital expansion, showcasing the broad skills and experience of the law firm’s Public Law Practice Group attorneys.
Greg represented Overland Park Regional Medical Center and HCA in its application for and approval of the city’s declaration of intent to issue Economic Development Revenue Bonds, allowing a needed increase and improvement in OPRMC’s ability to serve the healthcare needs of Overland Park and Johnson County. This initial EDRB approval entitled OPRMC to a sales tax exemption on certain construction labor and materials to expand its surgery suites, neonatal intensive care, emergency services access, and other vital facilities and equipment.
Kim, using her subject-matter experience in structuring, negotiating, and preparing bonds, then worked with the City of Overland Park and the city’s bond counsel to apply for and obtain the sales tax exemption certificate on behalf of OPRMC.
