DeLuca Law LLC, an Ohio-based education and business firm, will affiliate as “of counsel” with Rouse Frets, the firms announced.
Founder Chris DeLuca is a recognized leader in education law. He previously served as in-house counsel and chief financial officer for a multi-state cosmetology school group, where he was responsible for compliance with laws and regulations for participation in Title IV federal student aid programs. He also managed compliance for the school’s accreditation with the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences (NACCAS). He recently served as a member of the U.S. Department of Education’s on borrower defense to repayment negotiated rule making committee.
Chris advises education clients on student relations, faculty/staff relations, school accreditation, risk management and federal student aid, including regulatory compliance, Title IV eligibility, school policies and procedures, student consumer disclosures, Title IX, the Clery Act, gainful employment and the accommodation of disabled students. He is also a certified public accountant (inactive status) and provides legal counsel and tax advice for educational companies and other business clients.
