Mary Jo Shaney, a longtime partner and executive committee member, retired in 2025 after nearly 40 years of practice. Mary Jo brought exceptional skill to her trial and appellate work, which focused primarily on property and constitutional rights. She was a tireless and steady advocate for her clients, and a masterful collaborator with colleagues on complex legal issues. Her numerous awards included selection to the Litigation Counsel of America, a national fellowship composed of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. The firm wishes Mary Jo the very best in her next adventures, whether on her bike, playing the cello, or off somewhere with her family into the wild blue yonder.
