Leawood, KS – June 5, 2023: The Kansas Court of Appeals in its decision in Maize v. City of Leawood upheld the unanimous rezoning approval secured by attorney Greg Musil for the Hills of Leawood. The proposed subdivision near 151st Street and Mission Road anticipates the construction of 24 high quality villas.
Musil represented the client developer and presented the rezoning and preliminary development plan for the long-vacant 13.5 acre tract, which the Leawood City Council unanimously approved in 2020. Owners of two neighboring single-family homes objected and sued the city, challenging the legality of the rezoning. The Johnson County District Court upheld the rezoning and its judgment was affirmed by the Court of Appeals as the City of Leawood successfully defended the Council’s vote.

Choice of an attorney is an important decision and should not be based solely upon a website or advertisements. In reviewing achievements by the law firm or its attorneys, remember that past results afford no guarantee of future results; each matter is different and must be judged on its own merits. Although our lawyers may practice in subject areas, neither the Supreme Court of Missouri nor The Missouri Bar reviews or approves certifying organizations or specialty designations for Missouri licensed attorneys.
