John W. Witten

Experience

John focuses on a wide variety of litigation, including medical malpractice defense, business litigation, construction law, labor and employment, and higher education law. John has litigation, trial, and appellate experience in state and federal courts in Missouri and Kansas. John applies successful strategies during the discovery phase of lawsuits to prompt favorable settlements and dismissals, has obtained summary judgment on behalf of multiple clients, has prosecuted and defended several cases to a favorable verdict for his clients, and has successfully briefed and argued multiple appeals.

John graduated Cum Laude from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. While in law school, John was a member of the UMKC Law Review Editorial Board, served as a staff member on the Urban Lawyer, was a member of UMKC’s National and ABA Moot Court teams, and was a research assistant to Professor Robert Klonoff. While in law school, John also spent a summer semester studying law in Ireland.

John lives in Overland Park with his wife and four children and is an active member of Curé of Ars Catholic Church.
